Scourge Arrives

[primus_seeress]

*Auspex is wandering in the wildernesses around her sanctuary. There are times she simply needs to see the sky and stars, and seek Primus in the landscape of her homeworld. She drifts over the plains, utilizing her seldom-used hover vehicle mode. She finds a peculiar outcropping of metal, transforms, and climbs up a little higher, to perch on it, and survey the scenery.*

*She has a suspicion Primus has a purpose for her being here... but doesn't he always? She murmurs a prayer as she watches the serene landscape.*

*Rebuilding efforts or not, Scourge still wants a little time to himself. They don't really need him and he doesn't want to have to listen to any more questions or have someone point a gun at him because they haven't heard the news yet. He walks--doesn't fly, but walks--through the ruins, trying to get his head together*

*Scourge is still getting used to being back. Loud noises and other people used to scare him and he's not quite past that. The Sweeps, or at least what's left of them, seem to be acclimating well enough. But Scourge just wants some silence, and he's not even paying attention to where he's going*

*Auspex is still sitting quietly, just enjoying the being-ness of the more-or-less natural landscape, when Primus nudges her mind, and she begins looking around cautiously. Usually no one comes out here unless they mean to, or Primus means them to. Either way, it's usually to see her or her sanctuary. But part of the reason it's out here by itself at all is to discourage random violence, and so there's a fine balance between wariness and welcome.*

*She holds her silence a little longer, until she is sure of who is approaching*

*Scourge would normally have seen her ages ago, but he isn't paying attention. He's looking at the ground as he walks by the outcropping, posture slumped and submissive. Even if he's been repaired, you can still see that he's a broken mech.*

*Auspex's optics blink, as the mech actually passes nearby. He looks... pained. Not physically, but in his spark... Primus definitely brought him here for a reason. Isn't that... a Decepticon Sweep? That's a bit odd to see one out here.*

*Now she deliberates how to get his attention without scaring him. She decides there's no good way, and hopes she doesn't get shot at for her troubles.*

Hello? What brings you here, friend? It is far from... well, anything. *she smiles faintly*

*Scourge whirls and aims at her, his face more full of fear than agression. He relaxes just a bit when he sees she's not one of Void's, but the gun remains raised.* Who are you?

*She flinches a little, an automatic reaction, but otherwise remains still. She is alarmed by the fear she is facing... what's happened to him, to make him so afraid?* I am a servant of Primus, and I live close by. My name is Auspex. I am most definitely unarmed, if you find that reassuring. *And not an invitation to shoot me anyway..*

*Scourge lowers his gun, but doesn't put it away. She hasn't tried to run or shoot him, so she's probably heard...or just doesn't care.* As long as you aren't one of Void's. I was patrolling this area. *might as well act like he was doing something useful*

*her optics flicker, slightly confused* Um... you are from Void's universe? You... seem to have wandered away from your native place, if so.

*looks around him, actually noticing his surroundings for the first time* I'm on the other Cybertron again, aren't I? *his wings curl a bit tighter around him and he looks nervous* Oh. *he pulls the gun a bit closer, aiming it off to the side*

Er, perhaps. A different one, in any case. *she tilts her head at him* Don't be alarmed. It is simple enough to find your universe again, if you managed to get here. And perhaps Primus saw fit to bring you here. *considering his fear, and his nervous behavior, something is wrong, and the division of universes is a simple thing for Primus to transcend*

Primus? Hnn. *he ducks his head slightly, feeling more of Unicron then of Primus* I'll just move along, then, let you get back to what you were doing. *he turns away*

You are still a child of Primus, despite the Unicron-reformatting. And, clearly, something is troubling you; the Chaos does not mask your emotion so fully that I cannot see that. Please-- if there is any way I can help you, I gladly will. I offer a listening audio, and the peace of Primus, if you will accept it. Is there really other business you have here, so far away from the cities? *Her face reflects sincere concern, and kindness... no hint of anything judgemental*

*Scourge raises his gun again and takes a step back* Who's been telling you about me?

I get it a lot. Mostly times that Void got bored, or I made him angry somehow. And Cyc wonders why he found that stash of energon in my room.

*she winces slightly* That is not the healthiest way to deal with the problems... but I suppose you saw no other choice, really.

Tell me one, if you can? I want to help. *She reassures again, this is to help him, despite the pain*

Old habits. Void forgot to feed me, or just had me starve at some points. When I first got back to the base I drank myself sick and passed out on the floor. Felt...kinda good, really. You start to forget things when you're overcharged.

It's a very transitory solution. It doesn't make the pain go away, it only puts it off for awhile. It would be far healthier to talk to me about one of these things.

It's better than being hungry. I was always hungry, he kept me underfueled enough to make sure I couldn't get too far away from him without collapsing.

*she nods slowly, frowning unhappily at Void's tactics* Hunger can heighten emotional tension as well.

Makes it so you can't think as well, either. Other times, he'd say I was greedy and had too much to drink so he'd...take it out of me.

*she turns to him slowly, nodding, hiding her own reaction. Her voice is a little flat, however* How did he do this?

*Scourge bites at his lip* Took a laser scalpel to my main fuel line. Just slit it open and let me leak while he watched.

*she hisses softly* All right. Tell me, which fear do you remember most strongly? The fear of feeling the hunger, of the pain of the cut... or his reaction to your pain? Or something else entirely?

So, it's not a physical sensation at all that you dreaded most, but the knowledge that you had no control over the outcome? And, if that is the case, as a wild theoretical: if someone, anyone else, not associated with Void, had done such a thing to you at the time, would you have felt the same fear, or would it have been anger, or something else?
